Summary
Calcium chloride (chemical formula: CaCl2) is a white or slightly yellow solid inorganic compound, belonging to the salt category.
Industrial application:
1. Used as a multi-purpose desiccant, such as for drying gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, and sulfur dioxide. Used as a dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers, and acrylic resins. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigerators and ice making. It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar. It is an excellent building antifreeze agent. Used as a defogging agent and road dust collector in ports, and a fabric fire retardant. Used as a protective agent and refining agent in aluminum and magnesium metallurgy. It is a precipitant for the production of lake pigments. Used for deinking in waste paper processing. It is a raw material for the production of calcium salts.

8. It can increase the permeability of bacterial cell walls.
